I’m Marta and I use dyes derived from plants, flowers and fruits to design silk textiles and other natural fabrics of different colours.
Even when I was as young as 4 or 5, I used to absolutely love making things. I would let my imagination run wild, setting up my own ‘fashion showroom’ with whatever materials I could get my hands on, or building a house out of paper for my dolls, surrounded by a garden full of flowers which I had picked myself from the countryside.
But as I got older, my creative side made way for my studies. After getting a degree in Tourism and becoming a qualified Sign Language Interpreter, I worked in both sectors for several years. But I discovered that it just wasn’t quite enough; I needed to find a way to channel my creativity, which continued to bubble away inside me.
And then one day I finally realised what would really make me happy – creating accessories with my very own hands which would stand out from the crowd.
We live in a world in which everything happens much too fast, which stops us noticing what is going on around us. But there are times in life that we’ll always remember because of the intensity of the emotions they evoke. I love creating products which remind us of such priceless moments, which will live with us forever.
I’m a huge fan of the slow movement and devoting the time necessary to make sure things get done with great love and care. I love working in my studio in Madrid and seeing what different colours I can conjure up by leaving silk soaking in natural dyes, prepared in advance using sustainable elements, for differing lengths of time.
I like to create unique pieces for unique moments. If you’re looking for something to make your big day memorable, please get in touch.
My time and hands can help to make it happen
